GRADY JJOHNSON

Coach Grady Johnson came to Enterprise in 1958. While at Enterprise he coached girls’ basketball from 1958-1976, he then migrated over to administration where he was the principal at the elementary school before retiring in 1981.

During his coaching days, Coach Johnson helped with both baseball and football, but his passion was basketball. Coach Johnson was always watching and learning to keep his team philosophies on offense and defense on the cutting edge.

Johnson led teams won the Rebel Conference in 1961 and the Sam Dale Conference in 1975. He guided his team to the State Tournament in 1961. He was selected as a coach for the MHSAA All Star girls’ basketball team in 1967.

Coach Johnson cared deeply about his players and did his very best to support them on and off the court. Coach Johnson was a firm believer in the idea of buying in to what you were doing. He always said if you are going to play then put the time and work in

and practice to be your best.
